Considerations for Loft Conversions
When converting a loft the following things need to be taken into full consideration.
Changes to the roof will require an engineers design to show how the existing roof
structure will support any modifications.
Generally existing ceiling joist will not support an additional floor above, meaning
that additional support will be required to ensure the new space has a solid floor
and does not effect the rest of the structure.
Any additional space created must have adequate access for fire and fully comply
with health and safety rules.
